High School Joinery Project
As part of Morlo’s commitment to upskill young people, earlier this year the Partnership worked with Holyhead High School to provide BTEC Level 1 modules in “Health, safety and welfare in construction” and “Developing carpentry skills”. Seven students from Holyhead High attended the 12 week course held at the Morlo Skills Training Unit. Along with a local qualified joiner, two of the Morlo apprentices helped deliver the course, passing on the skills that they had acquired to other young people. Six young people successfully completed the course and achieved their module qualification through BTEC.
