Ysgol Llanfawr Outdoor Classroom

In total £14,500 of funding has been received from the National Lottery Breathing Places Grant towards the creation of an outdoor classroom at Ysgol Llanfawr applied for by Morlo. £500 was also received from Isle of Anglesey County Council towards the purchase of a poly tunnel.

With the support of Ysgol Llanfawr staff and pupils, BTCV, Keep Wales Tidy and Morlo staff and apprentices this garden area has now been completed. The opening of the garden was held on Saturday 6th June, and despite the bad weather was very well attended. This day included many workshops such as a falcon display, woodcraft, arts and craft, face painting and much more. Can we also take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers that helped during this day.

This area will now be maintained and used by all pupils at Ysgol Llanfawr but supported by the Morlo Environmental Apprentice. The outdoor classroom area will also be used during evening and school holidays with the youth and resident groups.

The produce grown at the garden will be sold in Morawelon Post Office, the money made from this will go back towards the outdoor classroom and towards the purchase of further material, plants, seeds etc.

If you would like to become involved with the outdoor classroom or require further information please contact Ysgol Llanfawr or Morlo. As we are now looking for keen gardeners to share their skills and knowledge during sessions that can be held during day, evening or weekend sessions.
