Rural Family Services
1. Rural Family Service, Barnardo’s will be running a 12 week Incredible Years programme in the Holyhead area September 2009.
"The Incredible years programme is filled with examples of everyday problems and step by step suggestions on how to handle situations and concerns. The course has a number of goals which include increasing parent’s positive communication skills, such as the use of praise and positive feedback to children, and to reduce the use of criticism and unnecessary commands, as well as to improve parent’s relationship with their child and limit setting skills through promoting positive strategies."
2. One of the Rural Family Service Barnardo's Play time creches is based in Gwelfor Community centre. Creche is run on a Tuesday and Friday morning. The creche is for children aged between 1 and 2.5 years. For example the creche seeks to support parents who may be lone parents or families who may have stressful situations happing in their lives. Families who are interested in this service will have to meet the services criteria.
